How to Apply False Lashes for Beginners – A Step-by-Step Guide

False lashes can feel intimidating at first — but once you've got the technique down, you'll wonder how you ever lived without them. Whether you're reaching for a natural everyday style or full glam drama, this guide will walk you through everything you need to know.

What you'll need

  • Your Aankhenlashes faux mink lashes
  • Lash glue (clear or black)
  • Tweezers or a lash applicator
  • Small scissors
  • A mirror (a magnifying one helps!)

Step 1: Measure and trim

Hold the lash strip against your eye before applying any glue. It should start just above your inner corner and end at your outer corner. If it's too long, trim from the outer edge — never the inner.

Step 2: Apply the glue

Apply a thin, even layer of lash glue along the band. Less is more — too much glue makes it harder to control. Wait 30 seconds until the glue becomes tacky. This is the most important step most beginners skip!

Step 3: Apply the lash

Looking down into a mirror, place the lash as close to your natural lash line as possible. Start from the centre, then press down the inner and outer corners. Use tweezers or your fingertip to gently press the band flush against your lid.

Step 4: Blend and finish

Gently press your natural lashes and the false lash together with your fingers. Apply a coat of mascara to blend them, and use eyeliner along the band to conceal it if needed.

Step 5: Removal and care

Always remove lashes gently — peel from the outer corner inward. Clean off any glue residue with a cotton bud and store them back in their original tray. With proper care, your Aankhenlashes faux mink lashes are reusable 15+ times.
